Bookish college sophomore Sydney Baker wants Evan Taylor with every ounce of her being. The hottest stud on campus, Evan is six foot four, ripped, stacked with muscles. He’s even easy to talk to.

There’s just one problem: he’s her roommate Melanie’s boyfriend.

But when Melanie tragically dies after a night of wild partying, Sydney and Evan turn to each other in a time of intense grief. And it doesn’t take long for their close friendship to blossom into something more.

Unfortunately for Sydney, secrets from the past soon put her relationship with Evan to the test. Especially when a sexy blonde freshman makes her way into Evan’s life, and tries to rip away everything Sydney holds close to her heart.

My Review:

Crashing Into You My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Crashing Into You by B.D. Rowe is a tale of tragedy and loss and love. It's kinda messy and very angsty and has a definite message about underage drinking, drinking in excess, and driving under the influence.

I'm not comfortable with love triangles and while the characters in this story were more like a "V" than a full blown triangle it still made me feel a little itchy.

You can't help who you like or love but you can help who you hurt in the process and Sydney does her best to not hurt her roomate Melanie. Sydney can't help that she's head-over-heels for Melanie's boyfriend Evan.

Evan is a more real character than some you read about. He is flawed and occassioanly does stupid things. Perhaps not something we want to always read about - be honest, I want my book boyfriends only slightly flawed and closer to perfect than is truly possible (sigh). But I can buy into Evan and the mistakes he made.

Events get very hectic towards the end, there's some jealousy and drunken behavior by a surprise character and there is an abrupt ending after a tragic loss. I'm unsure if there will be a sequel, the events should be resolved but it's sure gonna be a painful journey, tragic and guilt-ridden.
