Tour: Tear Asunder #1: Torn From You by Nashoda Rose
About The Book:
Title: Torn from You
Author: Nashoda Rose
At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder knocked me off my feet. Literally, because he’s also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love and I fell hard for him. I mean the guy could do sweet, when he wasn't doing bossy, and I like sweet.
Then it all shattered.
Kidnapped.
Starved.
Tied up like a piece of meat then whipped.
I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt's voice, I thought he was there to save me. I was wrong. Sculpt was there to break me.
*Warning: This book contains some disturbing situations, strong language and sexual content.
No cliffhanger and next in the Tear Asunder series is Ream's story (the band's lead guitarist).
My Reviews:
With You (Tear Asunder #0.5):
With You by Nashoda RoseMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
With You by Nashoda Rose is an introduction to Emily and Sculpt. It is the tale of hhow they met and fell in love and ends in a major cliffhanger that is picked up immediately in Torn from You. As the author has stated, it is not necessary to read this prequel to begin Torn from You but I recommend it because it is such a sweet tale.
Emily is this down to earth Toronto gal that is looking for fighting lessons to better protect herself from random psychopaths (she was attacked and nearly raped previously). She picks Sculpt.
Sculpt is lead singer in his band Torn and also an illegal underground fighter. He fights to make money so he and his band can go on tour and get the chance to hit the big leagues. He refuses, at first, but slowly he and Emily fall for each other in a big way.
Again, not a necessary pre-read but what a beautiful tale of love and growing trust.
Torn From You (Tear Asunder #1):
Torn from You by Nashoda RoseMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Torn from You by Nashoda Rose is the first main book in the Tear Assunder series. An extremely Intense tale of kidnapping, sex trafficking, love, danger and sacrifice.
Sculpt (AKA Logan), for me, went from being a cold, distant, cocky fighter type persona to a caring, albeit closed-off, protective, worthy lover. I was very pleased with his characters development.
Emily does NOT stop fighting. She is one tough cookie who (usually) recognizes when bending is the best way to avoid breaking. She is head-over-heels for Sculpt and the events surrounding her kidnapping have her very confused and cause her to question her own judgement for a while.
The thing about this book is, the kidnapping is not the main event. The tale only gets better, introduces and acquaints us with more central characters, and leaves me an impatient bundle of nerves waiting to hear what happens with Kat & Ream!
I am very honored that I was able to help promote this book and it's prequel With You. By far this is one of my favorite books of 2013!

Review: Roman Holiday #4 & #5 by Ruthie Knox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Ravaged by Ruthie Knox is the fourth in a set of five serial novels about Roman and Ashley. There is another set of five novels that will be released at a later date giving us a holiday from our Holiday!

So the road trip continues. Roman is giving Ashley the silent treatment and she's not getting the response she expected from people. She is so desperately trying to save Sunnyvale from demolition that she has a difficult time comprehending when people don't see the place as she does.
Roman has been trying so hard all his life, first with his foster dad, then with Herberto, he doesn't know who he is anymore around Ashley. She makes him want, she makes him feel and he is just itching for it to stop. For things to go back to how they were before she chained herself to that palm tree.
*Banging head against wall* When will they both realize they care for each other? *Frustrated sigh & eye roll* people can be so dense sometimes...
Now onto book 5...
~~~***~~~
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Ignited by Ruthie Knox is the fifth in a set of five serial novels about Roman and Ashley. There is another set of five novels that will be released March 2014 giving us a brief holiday from our Holiday! *sigh*
An almost "moment" in a pond in North carolina has muddied up the waters that Roman and Ashley are trying to navigate on this all or nothing road trip. They've kissed, they've had hands on each other. They're affected. So now what?
Well, now a trip to see a curmudgeonly old man and his brother at their campground, and then, start a fire.
I love this author's characters very much. They are so very human and have a great number of faults that make them so much more approachable as a reader. It also makes you want to wring their bloody necks from time to time, but thats all a sign of a good book!
I can't believe I have to wait till March now to read what happens next.
I curse and praise you, damned creator of serial novels!
Blog Tour: Beautifully Broken #3: Before We Fall by Courtney Cole
About The Book:
Title: Before We Fall (Beautifully Broken #3)
Author: Courtney Cole
Release Date: December 17, 2013
Sometimes, one dark moment is all it takes to turn your world black...
For 24-year old Dominic Kinkaide, that moment took place on the night of his high school graduation. One dark incident changed him forever. He's a hardened actor now, famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured in his own. He doesn't care about much of anything, except for losing himself in the roles that he plays.
23-year old Jacey Vincent doesn't realize how much her father's indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn't one specific moment that wrecks a person, but rather it's an absence of moments. She's like a bird with a broken wing-strong yet fragile, as she tries to float through life, finding acceptance in the arms of random guys, one after the other... to fill the void that her father left in her.
Until she meets Dominic.
After jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, his secret and her issues create a dark and damaged energy that will soon turn their attraction to each other into an explosive storm.
Even though when the clouds have cleared and the dust has settled, both of them are almost obliterated... they've learned a priceless lesson.
Sometimes, before we fall... we fly.
Exclusive:
Top 5 things Jacey loves about Dominic
1. His confidence
2. His dark, dark green eyes
3. His chiseled abs
4. His heart.
5. His goodness. It took her awhile to find it because it was hidden so far down, but now that she’s seen it, she’s in love with it.
Our Reviews:
If You Stay by Courtney Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
If You Stay by Courtney Cole was knocking my socks off from the first page. The author wasted NO time at ALL in getting to the nitty gritty of Pax's effed up life.
This was such an emotional tale of two damaged people that do nothing but make each other better (for the most part) once they finally get to know each other.
Pax truly is a damaged soul and he knows it. He feels deep down inside, that he doesn't deserve Mila, but he wants her so badly that he doesn't care. He may not be good enough for her but he's gonna die trying to make himself worthy.
Mila saves Pax's life. First on the beach with his accidental OD and again by giving him a solid, loving reason to straighten up and get himself sorted.
Did I mention how freaking hot and steamy this book was? It will make your girl parts feel all naughty (& nice).
My first book by this author and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!
Beautifully Broken #2
If You Leave by Courtney Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Allison's Review:
Gabe Vincent is a former soldier - events from his time in Afghanistan haunt his dreams.
Maddy Hill lost her parents in a horrible car crash. She lives in their home and took over running their restaurant.
While out on the town one night, Maddy and Gabe meet at a club and have instant chemistry. They leave together but their night is cut short after their cab is involved in an accident. This triggers his memories of Afghanistan and Gabe freaks out. Needless to say, Maddy isn't prepared for this. Gabe's strange behavior triggers her own memories of her abusive father. She gets Gabe home safely and figures she'll never see him again.
However, Gabe drops by to visit his sister who just happens to be a waitress in Maddy's restaurant and sees Maddy again.
Gabe decides to pursue Maddy despite her seeming lack of interest. Maddy is put off by Gabe's behavior from the first night they met thinking that he's a violent man like her father was.
They get stuck with each other during a bad storm and can't leave her house due to flooding. This time together helps them to get closer and open up to one another.
Eventually Maddy let's go of her doubts and helps Gabe confront his nightmares so they can move forward.
Looking forward to the next book about Gabe's sister!!
Beautifully Broken #3Before We Fall by Courtney Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Allison's Review:
Omg! I can't stop crying!
I started reading Before We Fall this morning and could not put it down from the start.
I'm totally loving Courtney Cole.
Jacey Vincent,who we met in If You Leave, is still struggling with overcoming her insecurities.
Dominic Kinkaide is miserable and shuts himself off to any meaningful relationships.
They are thrown together in community service and develop a connection that Dom instantly doesn't want to admit to. Jacey feels that Dom has redeeming qualities somewhere deep inside him and becomes obsessed with convincing him of this.
Dominic eventually must open up and share the details of a huge secret that he has carried for six years if he wants to move forward with Jacey. Holy shit Batman - the secret was a doosie! I was blown away!
The epilogue was beautiful. It really was a bittersweet ending to Jacey and Dom's story - gave me goose bumps. I hope that Brand gets a story and that we learn of a little addition to the Kinkaide's family!
Excerpt:
“Are you feeling warm yet?”
I watch his lips as he speaks the words, husky and low. His lips are full, yet manly and suddenly I ache to lean over and press mine to his, to touch them in any way that I can.
But I don’t.
Because I’m not a girl who gets used. Not anymore.
“No, not at all.”
But Dominic takes that as a challenge. He’s not used to hearing the word no and he’s not about to start now. I see that in his dark eyes a scant moment before he dips his head and consumes my mouth.
I say consume, instead of kiss, because that’s what he does.
He consumes me.
His lips are fiery and hot and he kisses me with a fierceness that touches a secret part of me; moist, hot, firm, sexy. I want to inhale him, to suck him down. I vaguely feel his hands on my back, his warmth emanating through my clothes, his hardness pushing into my softness.
I’m breathless when he pulls away.
“What about now?”
Review: Roman Holiday 3: Blindsided
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Blindsided by Ruthie Knox is the third in a set of five serial novels about Roman and Ashley. There is another set of five novels that will be released at a later date giving us a holiday from our Holiday! So - We get a little action this go around - shame it's solitary! But, wow! Roman's just so much hotter when he loses his cool. Phew! Ashley is FINALLY getting under his skin and ruffling those sleek feathers of his.
Speaking of ruffled feathers, we also meet Carmen in this episode. Still not quite sure what to think there. We will see.
Did anyone else pick up on the fact that Noah was a hottie? I must have missed it being solely focused on Romans attempts at "watching" over Ashley when she had chained herself to the tree. Not to give any spoilers away, but apparently he's hot too!
I can't wait to see the moment when Roman and Ashley finally succumb to this torturous attraction they have for each other and refuse to acknowledge!
Again, if you HATE serial novels, then don't read this UNTIL all books in series are out. You should still read this. It's fun, quirky and extremely well-written.
Review: Take A Chance #4: Take Me
Take Me by Diane AlbertsMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
Take Me by Diane Alberts is the fourth book in the Take a Chance series.
A fun, light-hearted romance. A quick read and a fantastic series!
This was not my favorite book of the four - I felt like everything just happened so quickly and then it was over. That being said, I still really enjoyed Mike & Morgan's story, just not as much as the others in this series.Mike is not a relationship kinda guy. He has a theory about dating. He even named his theory. Are you ready for it?
Mike's Stoplight Theory
-Compare your time with a woman to a stoplight.-Green means go.
It’s the first or second date and she’s looking at you with those bright eyes and big pouty lips...This is the time to enjoy what’s freely offered with no worries of tomorrow. Talk, laugh, and have some fucking fun. But when you see her again—and if you sleep with her again—then you’re in the yellow zone.
-Yellow Zone
And you better think very carefully before stepping into the yellow zone, my friends. If you go back for second helpings, that’s fine. Encouraged, even, if you know what you’re getting yourself into. But the second you’re finished, she’s going to be wanting to see you again. And she’s going to want confirmation that you want to see her again.”
“So what do you do then?” Riley asked, his cheeks flushed. “I give my very detailed, very sweet—yet stern—speech abouthow I’m not looking for a relationship right now. I tell her I can’t see myself ever settling down enough to think of the big ‘M’ word. If she cries, then that’s the end of the yellow zone.”
-Red Zone
You’re in the red, and you get the fuck out of there with your ass hanging outta your pants if need be.”
Morgan is a dancer in Vegas. A DANCER and NOT a stripper.
She danced because she was a dancer. She didn’t know a life without dancing and hoped she never would. Dancing was her life. The thing that made her happiest and most fulfilled.
When they meet, sparks fly - not the lovey-dovey kind, the furious kind. They keep trying to one-up each other until the get so heated and competitive they end up in bed together.
I'm definitely hoping that there will be more in this series. I really enjoy the setting in Vegas and the intertwining of all the families and people in the four tales we have had so far.
Welcome To The Get Addicted Tour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Allison's Review:
Addicted for Now by Krista Ritchie is the next book in the Addicted series.
Hmmmmm......I'm still sort of soaking this one all in. I have mixed emotions.
This book really was a roller coaster ride. The mystery surrounding the source of the leak was killing me. I was really surprised at who was responsible. Ouch!! That one really hurt!
I enjoyed the development of Ryke and Daisy's relationship now leading up to their book - Hothouse Flower. I had mixed emotions about him and his intent/sincerity towards Lo but my worries were certainly put at ease.
**Small Spoiler Alert**
