I Bet You by Ilsa Madden-Mills is the second book in her Hook Up series. This story is about the best friend of Maverick that we met in I Dare You, Ryker, and the girl that wrote an exposé on him. This book CAN stand alone but they're both so good - just read them! Sexy, funny, with a little dash of angst thrown in, this book was awesome!
Penelope is my nerd-girl idol. From sparkly vampires to Black Dagger Brotherhood, to True Blood and Buffy. I heart her so much for that alone. Meanwhile, as an actual fictional character herself, she is clever, sassy, and I can see why Ryker was so utterly intrigued with her from the very start. Never mind that she has sworn off football players forever, has abandonment issues, and also is quite mad at him right now...
Ryker keeps stepping wrong with Penelope but he doesn't mean to. It's just that he'll do almost anything to get closer to her, including taking a stupid bet over a ketchup bottle that she ends up wearing the contents of. But whatever it takes, be it suffering through sparkling vampire movies or helping her date the guy she is crushing on a la not Ryker.
Quirky, sexy, with emotional depth and well placed angst this was another fabulous read from a favorite author! Enjoy!
