Perversion by T.M. Frazier is the first book in her brand new Perversion Trilogy . In true Frazier fashion, this book has ALL the dark and twisty you could ever hope for. Gangs, tragic childhood, violence, scars, lies, deceit, betrayal. The connection between the characters is bittersweet.
Tristan is a troubled teen that is shipped from foster family to foster family. He doesn't speak because he sees no purpose in it so the "adults" around him think that he isn't just dumb, he's also dim-witted and nothing could be further from the truth. A chance encounter with Emma Jean one day leaves him plus a kitten and minus a wallet. The precocious girl from across the street set something free in him that day. Add that to the new family he went with and their unique view on how a family should be and things just kept looking up.
Emma Jean loved magic. When she met Tristan she didn't realize that she not only stole his wallet but a small piece of his heart. To her he was the boy she wished she knew better. The one ray of light in what rapidly became a dark and dangerous life. Slave to a gang leader and determined to not use her body to earn like everyone else she was now on a mission to do everything she could to get free. A chance encounter, years later with the boy from her past sets both their lives into a tailspin that, naturally ends on a cliffhanger with this book and I cannot wait to see what happens between them.
