Review: Thoughtless #1: Thoughtless

Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1)Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens was one of the most painfully intense stories I have read in a very long while.

This gets 1 extra star from the three I was going to give because S.C. Stephens created one HELL of a hottie in Kellan Kyle! Yummy! But this had to be one of the most uncomfortable books I have ever read! I have noticed that most reviews either Love, Love, Love it or absolutely hate it with a passion. I liked this story, I just felt too much for the characters and their pain. Love triangles are a freaking mess!

Kiera was not my favorite leading lady. It was maddening to see her waver so much between Denny and Kellan. But who could say no to Kellan?!?

Would you listen to Thoughtless again? Why?

No - I don't think I would listen to Thoughtless again. It was a very difficult story for me to be a part of. Something about the depth of emotions inside this love triangle was too much for me. It was a very difficult book for me in parts.

Would you recommend Thoughtless to your friends? Why or why not?
I would definitely recommend it. My recommendation would be heavily laced with multiple warnings about the previously mentioned love triangle and about the deep emotional places this could take you.

Which character – as performed by Rebekkah Ross – was your favorite?
I have to say that Denny was my favorite because she didn't butcher the Australian accent. She did a really great job with all the characters but I enjoyed listening to her perform Denny the most.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No - I usually listen on my commute and, if possible I'll try for times beyond that. This book was painful and I don't know if I could have handled it without multiple breaks along the way.

Any additional comments?
I keep mentioning how uncomfortable this book was for me, but I also need to say it was a great story. S.C. Stephens obviously wrote a great book if she could get me that invested in their lives.

“You…the only woman I’ve ever loved…ever. You thought I’d toss that out? Do you really think anyone in this world, compares to you in my eyes?”

With a heavy breath, I returned his intense gaze, his eyes smoldering in a way that made me weak. “You wreck me,” he growled, crashing his lips back down to mine.
