Feature & Follow Friday # 5

Welcome to this weeks Feature & Follow Friday Tuesday!

The question for this week is...

Feature your own favorite blogger, have it be a surprise.

The best way I could think to do this was to focus on a blog I enjoy reading and link to their own blog...

The person who I followed to begin this Feature and Follow malarkey is...
Chrissy T of "A Novel Idea" blog.

And then the Goodreads review that inspired me to start my blog back up again...
Angie of "Angie's Dreamy Reads" blog.
It was her Goodreads review of Real by Katy Evans that blew my mind, so I read the book, and my mind was blown again! I liked the book so much that I just had to write about it somewhere, anywhere...

Feature & Follow Friday # 4

Welcome to this weeks Feature & Follow Flu-day!

While it was technically a sinus infection...I have been incapacitated with the plague, and then struggling to catch up over the past week and a half. Here is last Friday's "Feature & Follow" article...

The question for this week is...

What book (or TV show or movie) have you not read that seemingly everyone else has?

I am woefully behind in some of my friend-recommended reading. One series that I have NOT read that I KEEP being told I "just absolutely have to" is the This Man series by Jodi Ellen Malpas.

From Goodreads:

This Man (This Man #1)

Young interior designer Ava O’Shea has an appointment for a first consultation at The Manor with the owner, Mr Jesse Ward. She is expecting nothing more than an overweight, cravat wearing, well-to-do countryman, and on arrival, nothing would suggest otherwise. How wrong could she be? This Man is devastatingly handsome, charming and confident. He is also a conceited, hedonistic playboy, who knows no boundaries. Ava desperately does not want to be attracted to him, but she can’t control the overwhelming affect he has on her. Every instinct is telling her to run, so she does, but Jesse Ward is not so willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her. She knows she is heading for heartbreak, but how can she run when he won’t let her?

Beneath This Man (This Man #2)

She knew she was heading towards disaster. Every instinct told her to run, but Jesse Ward was a hard man to escape. It has been five days’ since Ava O’Shea left Jesse drunk and raging at Lusso – left behind a man who drowned her in his intensity and blindsided her with his touch. Getting over this man was never going to be easy. And now he’s back in her life. She has questions she needs answering, but her determination to get these answers will give the pleasure-seeking playboy the power to destroy her again. She needs to keep her eyes wide open and caution at the forefront of her mind, an ambitious intention when Jesse Ward is within touching distance. And he plans to be. He’s dark, he’s broken – Ava knows this, but the only way to find out how dark and how broken is to get beneath the steely exterior of this man.

This Man Confessed (This Man #3)

THE STUNNING CONCLUSION TO THE THIS MAN TRILOGY! The Manor, the very place where their passionate love affair began, fills with guests on what should be the happiest day of Ava and Jesse's lives. She has accepted that she'll never tame the fierceness in Jesse-and she doesn't want to. Their love is profound, their connection powerful, but just when she thinks that she's finally gotten beneath his guarded exterior, more questions arise, leading Ava to believe that Jesse Ward may not be the man she thinks he is. He knows too well how to take her to a place beyond ecstasy . . . but will he also drive her to the brink of despair? It's time for this man to confess.

Feature & Follow Friday # 3

Welcome to this weeks Feature & Follow Friday!

The question for this week is...

Reading Nook Tour:
Give us a tour of your favorite reading spots.

Ooh, what are my favorite reading spots?Everywhere! I almost always have my e-reader with me (99% of the time), and when I don't I have my iPhone. A more definitive answer to the question would be in the bathtub, in bed, out on the boat, in the car, and by the pool.
In The Bathtub:
I can't count the number of times in my life I've almost dropped a book in the bathtub from falling asleep. Not that I'm bored, but because it's so damn relaxing. I have to be much more careful with the e-reader though...

In Bed:
I almost always read in bed, problem is, once I'm laying down I can't stay awake. It takes one heck of a book to keep me awake when I'm laying down reading. SO when I review books and say that it kept me awake reading it's a very high recommendation.

Out On The Boat:
My guy LOVES to fish. Me, not so much. This doesn't mean I can't tag along and relax and read while he fishes. I love the boat rides and being out on the lake is usually a very relaxing time.

In The Car:
AUDIBLE is AWESOME! I have a 45 minute commute to and from work and a one hour drive to my parents house. I am usually listening to an audiobook when I'm driving. This, coupled with all the serial novels that have been popular this year, is most of the reason I'm averaging about 4 books a week per my Goodreads 2014 reading challenge.

By The Pool:
Living in Florida we have many days where we can relax by the pool and read, soaking up some sun rays and vitamin D. Reading in the pool leads to soggy paperbacks or worse, but by the pool is a much safer location for the books in your life.

Feature & Follow Friday # 2

Welcome to this weeks Feature & Follow Friday!

The question for this week is...

What were some of your favorite picture books as a kid?
If you have kids, what are your favorites to read to them?

I was, and still am, a huge Dr. Seuss fan.
The Cat in the Hat is such a fun book to read out loud to my daughter. The faster the better, the more tongue tied I get the more laughs we have.

“I know it is wet and the sun is not sunny, but we can have lots of good fun that is funny.”
― Dr. SeussThe Cat in the Hat

Just one more reason that I love my job...I work at Universal Orlando and have had many opportunities to ride The Cat In The Hat™ ride, to essentially travel through the book.

“You were not born to just fit in, you were born to stand out!”

Hayley also absolutely LOVES the Caro-Seuss-El™ and the One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish™ ride.

The Seuss books are fun to read, fun to say, and always have a message. Take the Lorax as an example. Written in 1971, The Lorax is such an environmentally friendly book that it was beyond it's time.
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.”
― Dr. SeussThe Lorax
“So, open your mouth, lad! For every voice counts!”
― Dr. SeussOne Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
“A person's a person, no matter how small.”
― Dr. SeussHorton Hears a Who!

Feature & Follow Friday # 1

In an attempt to better network myself I am going to start doing the Feature & Follow Friday blog hop event hosted by Parajunkee & Allison Can Read blogs.

What is Feature & Follow Friday?
Feature and Follow Friday is a great way for book bloggers to find new followers and new friends by following the other bloggers involved in the event.

Who's in charge?
This weekly event is the creation of two awesome book bloggers, Parajunkee & Allison Can Read.

What happens each Friday?
Each Friday both Parajunkee & Allison Can Read will each showcase a different Featured Blogger. Choice is random, and the exposure will be across genres so be ready to step out of your comfort bubble.

How does this work?
First, you have to leave your name on this post (using the linky tools below).
Next, you create a post on your own blog that links back to both Parajunkee & Allison Can Read's blogs.
Then, visit as many blogs as you can, commenting on the Feature & Follow posts by saying hi. You follow them, they follow you. It's a win-win situation, just make sure you follow someone back if they follow you.

How can people follow me?
If you have a preference for how your blog is followed, state so in your F&F post. Examples are GFC (Google Friend Connect), Bloglovin', email, RSS feeds.

What is a blog hop?
A blog hop is a linky list that is SHARED ON MULTIPLE BLOGS.
When several blogs put the same linky list code on their blog, the exact same list appears on each blog.

Blog visitors can submit their entries on any blog that contains the list.
The entries will appear on each blog where the list resides.

Blog readers see the same list on each blog, and can "HOP" from blog to blog seeing the same list of links to follow: BLOG HOP!
