My rating: 5 of 5 starsNot Over You by Marquita Valentine is very beautiful tale.
A difficult childhood and adolescence have left their marks on Summer Holland. The one time she desperately needed her best friend and first love to believe in her was the one time he failed her. She has never forgiven him.
Gabriel Edwards has always loved Summer. He let her down once in the most uinforgivable way and he's been doing everything he can to make it up to her ever since. It's cost him along the way, dropping everything and everyone when she needs him, but it's Summer and there is no other way he would be.
Despite my OCD like need to read every book in a series, even if they can be standalone novels, I managed to dive right into this one and not get to itchy about not having reast the previous seven novels/novellas.
There's a VERY slight mystical flavor to the story. Summers sister Rose owns an apothecary and has The Sight. Summer is also very much at one with nature. It's such a beautiful tale. Heart beaking and uplifting at the same time. I will definitely be reading the other books in the series (in order of course).
