My Review:
The Arrangement 13: The Ferro Family by H.M. Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Arrangement 13: The Ferro Family by the Fantabulous H.M. Ward is the 13th book in her ongoing, fan-driven serial The Arrangement. Part of the Ferro Family series of books, this focuses on Sean Ferro and Avery Stanz. Avery, the girl with the car from hell and Sean, the man who was acquitted of murdering his wife and child. We have traveled with Avery and Sean through 12 serial length novellas and this 13th one is the first in which I have actually felt as betrayed as Avery must feel.
We left Sean and Avery in book 12 immediately after they were fired upon at Sean's cabin. This is exactly where the book picks up with a couple of chapters from Sean's point of view. Oh what glorious chapters they were. So, the plot thickens. Miss Black is still a threat to Avery, although how much of a threat is not yet clear. Henry Thomas is the obvious culprit of the attack on their lives, simply because of what he has already tried to do to Avery and just how badly he hates Sean. We are also granted a little more insight into the circumstances of the death of Sean's wife.
I'd like to say this was an easy read - but it's truly not meant to be. Open the book, deal with the cliffhanger we were left with from last book, build story up to the next clifhanger, blow the readers mind, leave them crying for more even though their e-reader ssays 97% and it's ended - FOR NOW!
Once again, I am not disappointed. H.M. Ward is a mastermind of weaving these Ferro Family characters together and I am so impatiently awaiting the release of Broken Promises and learning of what happens between his sudden fame with Mari at his side and his single life as one of Jonathan Ferro's best friends.
