About The Book:
Title: Time or Money
Author: Carly Fall
Published: February 11, 2013
Bridget is miserable in her marriage, and often longs for the days when they were dirt poor. They may have struggled financially, but at least she had her husband around. Mason is always working, and Bridget feels that he has chosen his work over her. She’s tried to talk to him about the way she feels, but he doesn’t seem to hear her. He just keeps telling her that once he makes partner then everything will be all right. But Bridget is sick of Mason forgetting the things that are important to her … like their anniversary a few months ago. She is at the end of her tether and decides that if he forgets Valentine’s Day, her favorite day of the year, then divorce just might be on the cards.
At the end of the day, this couple has only one decision to make: Time or Money?
My Review:
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Time or Money by Carly Fall is a stand alone novella length romance perfect for the Valentine's Holiday.
Mason and Bridget are as in love as two people can be. They have just forgotten this fact due to busy schedules, high ambitions, and sheer exhaustion. Mason is constantly striving for advancement in his career and wants to eventually make partner. The long work days and weekend social maneuverings have taken him away from his wife and things are at the bursting point between them. He grew up dirt poor and NEVER wants to risk being poor again, so he works and works and works. Thing is, they're beyond well-off as they stand right now and the constant attempt to gain more is bordering on greed. They were happier living in a tiny apartment together than they are now in their large home.
Bridget is working long hours now too, if only to keep herself from getting bored and being stuck home alone. Mason already forgot their wedding anniversary and as it stands now, her favorite holiday, Valentine's Day, is likely to go the same way. She's at her wits end and is willing to pack it in versus suffering in an unhappy marriage.
Mason knows V Day is Bridget's favorite holiday and he's got the perfect evening planned. Except, things go wrong as they are prone to do in life and things come to a very heated confrontation where they lay everything on the table. Can they both make the right decisions not only for themselves but also for their marriage.
A beautiful tale of how life really does just get in the way of love and how the same routine is okay until the moment it isn't and then someone snaps. This author is now on my list of "Must read more...".
