Fractured Lines by Jen McLaughlin is the fourth book in her Out of line series. While it can be read as a standalone, if you are patient you should read the series in order. These characters are so awesome you'll want to meet them at their beginning.
Jen McLaughlin has done it again. I mean what could Finn and Carries possible still have to go through? They've been through enough right? Well, apparently, they are still being tested. We are three years down the road from where we left them and we jump right into what happens after the Happily Ever After.
NEWSFLASH***** The HEA is only ever temporary - a high moment that surpasses other high moments in life, but ultimately it does end (or go back to a normal moment) otherwise, if it were always so good, we wouldn't appreciate it would we?
It's not so much that the plot is original, it's not, every story is just another story from another time told again since the beginning of time. These two are in love, one does something to hurt the other, they fight. He has regret, she has doubts, danger lurks, yet they keep on trying for another HEA moment. It's the manner in which Jen takes these characters through these moments, her style, the flow of the story that will leave you turning pages, ignoring your family, and finding a room with no TV or human distraction.
I devour her books and have not been disappointed yet.
