Her lips tingled for wanting feel his against hers. When he stepped away, she couldn’t stand losing him. Her fingers grabbed his thick arm before she could think better of it.
Roman looked at her hand then at her. “Don’t tempt me, Beth.”
None of the reasons to stay away mattered when she needed to forget everything. “But—”

Roman has issues and guilt from years ago and keeps it well-buried and places walls between him and most people in his life. Perhaps the only exceptions are his Titan team mates.
Beth is living the life, and living a lie. Her cushy lifestyle is part of her CIA cover but it's not enough. How does she let down her walls to let someone in?
