#BlogTour: Darkest Before Dawn by Stevie J. Cole

“Dark, gritty and utterly captivating. I couldn’t put this book down!”

- USA Today Bestselling Author, Natasha Knight

About The Book:

Sixty-four days in captivity. Sixty-four days to lose yourself—or find yourself.

I’m Ava Donovan. I was abducted at the age of nineteen. I’m told I’m a survivor, but the truth is, I only survived because he saved me. Even when he kept me locked in that room—he saved me.

Constantly wondering when and how you will die, that does something to you. To your mind. But what do you do when it does something to your heart? What do you do when the man holding you captive seems just as broken as you are, when his mere presence becomes a comfort you crave—when you love him even though you shouldn’t?

You smile and tell yourself it’s okay because love has no morals.

Sixty-four days in captivity gave me a love most people will never have and my freedom took it all away.

My Review:

Darkest Before DawnDarkest Before Dawn by Stevie J. Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Darkest Before Dawn by Stevie J. Cole is a beautifully poetic dark romance. Emphasis on the dark. It is a standalone told in dual POV between Ava, the girl who gets abducted, and Max, the captor who rescues her. Ava in turn rescues his soul from the dark place it has been immersed since he was younger.

This book has different bits of each of their pasts revealed slowly throughout and it isn't until they get close and begin to feel for each other that they realize they have been fated to be where they are. It is again a poetically dark story and I enjoyed every page. It has a happy ending but it is one that is also on the dark side. Well done Stevie J. Cole for balancing the line between love and darkness and creating this awesome story.
