Manic Monday by Piper Rayne is the first booko in their brand new Charity Case series. Told from the heroines POV, this story was well-paced and well-written. Sexy, steamy, romantic with just enough angst to keep it real.
A single mom moves back to her hometown and in with her mom who was just diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Victoria is making the best of the situation and is truly okay with where her life has brought her. Her marriage was not a happy one - the husband was inattentive and a workaholic, but at least he allowed her to leave the state and come back to Chicago to be with her mom.
Reed is the hot guy that catches her eye but she knows he is all wrong for her. First of all - he is a lawyer - she has sworn off ALL lawyers. Second of all - he was the best man at her wedding! Reed doesn't take no for an answer though and as a result Victoria gets the chance to see how different he is from her ex.
