Four Day Fling by Emma Hart is a hilarious, snarky standalone contemporary romance told with the signature wit and sass I have come to expect (and hope for) in Emma's heroines. The girls are never perfect but they are always funny and so very real. Well-paced and well-written (as always) this story of Poppy and Adam was just one calamitous riot of laughs after another.
Poppy needs a date for her sister's wedding before satan (aka her mom) finishes her off for good. When she summons up the sheer bravado (and stupidity) to ask her one-night stand she can't believe that 1) he agreed and that 2) she didn't nip it in the bud before the four day wedding extravaganza in the Florida Keys. Luckily he is a great partner in crime and it really isn't too hard to act like they're a couple but that is another problem all on its own...
Adam agrees to this quirky red-heads request to be her fake boyfriend at her sisters wedding but truly does not expect the sheer cluster of snark and sass that is not just Poppy but also her mom, her sister, even her geriatric grandpa. But he isn't disappointed because this is the most fun he has had in a long while and it is so easy to pretend the relationship because, just maybe, there could be more happening than either of them realize. Especially when she has no idea of his fame in the professional hockey world and clearly isn't after him for his status and wealth which by itself is wholly refreshing.
Loved this so hard - Anything from Emma Hart is a must-read for me and has been for a few years now. Enjoy!
